Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Mohol
With the aim of uplifting the peasantry in the predominantly agricultural India, the government enacted the Agricultural Produce Markets (Regulation of Purchase and Sale) Act, 1939 in 1939.
The Bombay Government, under Section 4, Sub-section 1 of the said Act, published the Bombay Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1939 in the Government Gazette, 4B, under Notification No. PMA 3654 dated 14/12/1954, and made it applicable to Mohol taluka from 1st March 1955. And under Section 5, Notification No. PMA 3654 (B) dated 14/12/1954, the Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Mohol was established. A total of 15 members including farmers, traders and government officials were appointed by the government in this organization.
